2026 Annual Convocation

Provincial Grand Chapter returned to Crypt School on Saturday the 26th September 2026.

During the ceremony E. Comp. Dave Hedley was appointed as 3rd Provincial Grand Principal. E. Comp. Tony Allcock OBE was promoted to Assistant to the Provincial Grand Principals to fill the vacancy left by Dave Hedley.

The Most Excellent Grand Superintendent, E. Comp. Michael Holland, thanked E. Comp. Tam Morrison, the outgoing, 3rd Provincial Grand Principal for all his hard work.

In total 63 companions were appointed, promoted or reappointed during the day.

As has become custom, the Travelling Sceptre was returned to the MEGS, this time by Loyal Hay Chapter 2382 who had recently claimed it from Chapter of Sympathy 855. It wasn’t long before it was announced that Chapter of Sympathy 855, with 18 Companions in attendance, reclaimed the Travelling Sceptre.

The Travelling Sceptre has been on a bit of a back and forth journey between Chapters in recent months, and to encourage more chapters to take part the rules are being revised. Keep an eye on The Travelling Sceptre’s own page to find out more.

After the convocation had finished the companions gathered to enjoy each other’s company at the Festive Board.
