A Memorable Summer Gathering in Kington

Nestled in the beautiful market town of Kington, Herefordshire, Arrow Chapter No. 2240 closed the calendar year with its much-loved summer meeting. Always the last on the calendar, it has become a tradition for Companions to enjoy the festive board in shirt-sleeve order — a welcome concession in this season’s unrelenting heatwave!
The Chapter room was filled with a lively energy as 30 visiting Companions joined the members, creating an atmosphere of true fellowship. Among them was our Grand Superintendent, E. Comp. Michael Holland, whose presence lent dignity and distinction to the evening.
The heart of the evening was the Exaltation of Comp. Luigi Sabado of Arrow Lodge. The ceremony was carried out with great care and dignity, every officer taking an active role in the work. Particularly notable was the contribution of E. Comp. Richard Myatt, recently appointed APGP, who delivered his duties as Principal Sojourner with confidence and skill, adding greatly to the candidate’s experience.
As the evening drew to a close, Companions gathered around the festive board, in shirt sleeves, laughter and conversation flowing easily. It was a reminder of what makes Arrow Chapter so special — a blend of ritual excellence, genuine camaraderie, and the warmth of companionship. A truly fitting way to mark the final Chapter meeting of the year.
